Founded in the spring of 2003, the Woodpile Collective’s collaborative artistic history has been consistent and prolific. Sifting influence from traditional and contemporary arts, abstraction and decomposition, natural environment and urban conflict, the Woodpile Collective create works that are both inconceivable and strangely familiar.

Their process of collaboration is freeflowing and always open to one anothers re-interpretation. They work as one. Six hands and three minds processing one another’s marks and working in the moment. Woodpile paintings and projects layer both forward and back, and unfold like a conversation between friends.

Founding members Blythe Hailey, Sean McLaughlin, and Shawn O'Keefe reside in Victoria BC Canada.
